STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – It was an unforgettable season for the Holt girls bowling team, as they roll to a fourth place finish in the division 1 state finals in Sterling Heights on Friday, March 2nd.
The Rams qualified for the state championships for the second straight year, looking to improve on last years 14th place finish. This year the Rams would take home the regional championship to get them to the state finals, and then earn Holt’s best finish since the 2010 state championship.
The division 1 state finals hosted 18 teams, and the top 8 would advance from the qualifying block to compete in bracket play to have the chance to get to the state championship match. Holt would earn a spot in the top 8 and draw Chippewa Valley in the quarterfinals, where Holt would come out on top, 1,114-1,087.
In the semifinal matchup Holt would fall by just 41 pins to the eventual state champions of Oxford, 1,193-1,152.
Congrats on an outstanding season Holt bowling!
