The Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball teams return home for a three game stretch starting this Friday, January 12 for the first time in this new year. The Rams host conference rival East Lansing, the girls game will start at 6pm, and the boys game will start 20 minutes following the girls game (approximately 7:30pm).
The girls are 3-1 in the CAAC Blue, 4-5 overall, and coming off a road win against the Everett Vikings on Tuesday. Allyiah Demmers led the Rams with 15 points, and closely followed by Ella Barker with 14, and Emily Kline with 13 points. East Lansing comes in with an 8-0 overall record, and 4-0 in the CAAC Blue.
The Holt boys enter Friday’s game at 4-3 overall, and 2-2 in the CAAC Blue. Holt’s wins came against Waverly, Lansing Sexton, St. Johns, and Lansing Eastern. They will try and end a streak of a few loses to DeWitt, Everett and Okemos. East Lansing is 3-1 in the CAAC Blue, 6-1 overall, and coming off a loss to Grand Ledge.
At halftime of the boys game the Holt Varsity Dance Team perform, following that we’ll be recognizing some of Holt’s Special Olympians, and the 2017-18 Holt/Mason Unified Flag Football Team that will be headed to Seattle in July for the Special Olympics USA Games.
The varsity basketball home stretch will continue next week with the Jackson Vikings coming to Holt on Tuesday, January 16, and Grand Ledge on Friday, January 19.
