EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Holt JV and Freshmen XC teams competed in the Bob Brown Frosh/JV Invitational at East Lansing on October 12.
The Rams Freshmen XC team raced their way to a 3rd place finish behind perennial powerhouses Okemos and Lansing Catholic. The Rams brought home 4 medals. Brandon Shirkey led the Rams with his PR 19:02.4 to finish 19th. Trevan Colwell (19:22.1) and Walker Mooney (19:23.3) finished 22nd and 23rd. Trent Bortnichak ran to a 19:26.5 to place 25th. Ethan Reynolds rounded out the scoring for the Rams with his 19:39.9 to finish 29th.
Peri VanAken represented the Lady Rams Freshmen. She brought home a medal for her 21st place finish, running the course in 25:02.8.
The Lady Rams JV finished 6th in the 12-team field, led by senior Miranda Cosme’s third place finish. Cosme ran a season best 21:03.1 to medal. Junior Caitlin Crittenden turned in a PR 22:59.6 to finish 29th. Junior Maura Gnass placed 37th with her 23:35.8. Junior Ally Alberts ran 24:00.8 to place 50th. Sophomore Abby Douglas ran a PR 24:15.3 to finish 53rd for the Lady Rams.
The Rams JV team finished 5th behind Jerome Johnson’s impressive 3rd place finish. He ran a PR 17:57.3 to medal. Sophomore Evan Alward also medaled with his PR 18:59.7 to place 21st. Senior Diego Banks ran 19:45.0 to finish 37th for the Rams. Sophomore Jacob Jenkins was close behind with his 39th place run of 19:49.6. Sophomore Nick O’Brien rounded out the scoring for the Rams with his PR 20:29.8 to place 69th.
